S14, also known as Sich, is a Ukrainian nationalist group founded in 2010 that gained notoriety in 2018 for being involved in violent attacks on Romani camps. S14 itself claims that it is only involved in removing illegal Romani camps using only "compelling legitimate arguments."

The "Kalmius" Brigade), a military unit of the Donetsk People's Republic, operates within the United Armed Forces of Novorossiya. Media often refer to it as a battalion of special purpose. As of the end of June 2015 Konstantin Kuzmin commanded the unit. The unit's name comes from the river of the same name, one of the largest rivers in Donbass. On February 16, 2015 the "Kalmius" battalion was included in the sanctions list of the European Union and of Canada. The Russian Orthodox Army is a militant group in Ukraine that was founded in May 2014, as part of the insurgency and following War in Donbass. It reportedly had 100 members at the time of its founding, including locals and Russian volunteers. As fighting between separatists and the Ukrainian government worsened in Donbass, their membership rose to 350, and later 4,000. Notable engagements of the ROA include the June 2014 skirmishes in Mariupol and Amvrosiivka Raion. The headquarters of the ROA is located in an occupied Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) building in Donetsk city. Members had no special training apart from the usual conscription service in the army and swore allegiance to Igor Girkin ("Strelkov"), insurgent and Minister of Defence of the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic. Along with other separatist groups in the region, the ROA has been noted of "kidnapp[ing], beat[ing], and threaten[ing] Protestants, Catholics, and members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church… as well as participat[ing] in anti-Semitic acts."

The Sparta Battalion is a rebel militant group of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) formerly led by the Russian born Arsen Pavlov ("Motorola") militant until his assassination in October, 2016. The new leader of the company became Vladimir Zhoga, a DPR fighter from Sloviansk. The battalion took part in the Battle of Ilovaisk and Second Battle of Donetsk Airport and several others.

Titushky are mercenary agents who supported the Ukrainian police force during the administration of Viktor Yanukovych, often posing as street hooligans with the clear purpose of performing illegal acts. Titushki raid is a widely used term in Ukrainian mass media and by the general public to describe street beatings, carjackings and kidnappings by unidentified men in civilian clothes from behind the lines of political rallies. Titushky were employed by the Yanukovych government with having reportedly 200 hryven' to $100 per day in payments. Some of them were also suspected to be illegal formations of combat troops carrying concealed pistols. The one purpose titushky served was the intimidation and dispersal of anti-governmental demonstrations and attacks on participants and representative of the media.

The Ukrainian National Assembly – Ukrainian People's Self-Defence is a Ukrainian political organisation seen as far-right in Ukraine and abroad. Although the Ukrainian National Assembly was the organisation's political wing, on 22 May 2014 it merged with Right Sector; the UNA-UNSO continues to operate independently. According to Andreas Umland and Anton Shekhovtsov, the UNSD was created in 1991 as a "formation manned by UNA members who had served in the Soviet armed forces ... to confront the State Committee for the State of Emergency".
