Founded in 2000 by Sven Harvey, Auto Assembly was a Transformers convention held in Birmingham, UK and run by the science-fiction fan organisation Infinite Frontiers. The first event was held in October 2000 and was held annually until the final event in 2015. The event was very originally called "The Auto-Assembly", and came to be referred to colloquially as "AA".

Con-G is a non-profit fan-run multigenre convention, held in February in Guelph, Ontario, Canada from 2009 to 2014. 'Con-G' was brought back from the dead starting in 2021 as a virtual online convention Con-G - Geeks@Home in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The convention was originally created as a Japanese anime convention but subsequently covered many other aspects of geek culture, such as Steampunk, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming etc. The name Con-G came from a combination of the words "Convention Guelph" and was a play on words on the Japanese writing system kanji.Con-G was brought back from the dead starting in 2021 as a virtual online convention Con-G - Geeks@Home in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Daisho Con was an annual three-day multi-genre convention held during November at the Kalahari Resorts: Wisconsin Dells in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The convention's name came from a small sword used by the samurai, named 'daisho'.

The Detroit Triple Fan Fair (DTFF) was a multigenre convention generally held annually in Detroit, Michigan from 1965 to 1977. It is credited as being the first regularly held convention featuring comic books as a major component. The Triple Fan Fair also gave balanced coverage to historic film showings and science fiction literature, in a manner that provided a template for many future convention organizers — most of which have yet to attain the same level of equal service to this sort of linked fan base.

Magnum Opus Con (MOC) was an annual multigenre convention which generally took place each spring in various cities in Georgia and South Carolina from 1986–2001. Organized by comics retailer Roland Castle, the convention was designed to attract science fiction fans of all stripes. Over its 16-year run, MOC featured hundreds of celebrity guests and ran hundreds of hours of programming for fans of science fiction, fantasy, comic books, gaming, and other elements of fandom.

The Pittsburgh Comicon, later known as Wizard World Comic Con Pittsburgh and since succeeded by Steel-City Con, was a comic book convention held in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1994 by Michael and Renee George. It was traditionally a three-day event and featured a fan-friendly experience that allowed the fans to interact with comic professionals at all levels.

SETIcon was a public convention organized by the SETI Institute and held twice in Santa Clara, California. It was an interdisciplinary conference, with talks focusing on a wide range of issues related to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). The programs included panels with prominent scientists from NASA and SETI; talks by science fiction writers, artists, and actors; and panels to explore controversial issues and compare perspectives. The sessions were non-technical and meant to increase awareness, interest, and funding for the SETI Institute. The convention attracted professional scientists, educators, space enthusiasts, and science fiction fans. Astronomical tattoos were not uncommon among attendees.
