
Audrie Taylor Pott was a 15-year-old student at Saratoga High School in Saratoga, California, who died by suicide. She had been sexually assaulted at a party eight days earlier by three 16-year-old boys she knew, and nude pictures of her were posted online with accompanying bullying.

The Heath High School shooting occurred at Heath High School in West Paducah, Kentucky, United States, on December 1, 1997. Fourteen-year-old Michael Carneal opened fire on a group of praying students, killing three and injuring five more.

Seung-Hui Cho was a South Korean-born mass murderer responsible for perpetrating the Virginia Tech shooting, killing 32 people and wounding 17 others with two semi-automatic pistols on April 16, 2007, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, making it the deadliest school shooting in US history. An additional six people were injured jumping from windows to escape. Cho was a senior-level undergraduate student at the university and committed suicide after police breached the doors of Norris Hall, where most of the shooting had taken place. His body is buried in Fairfax, Virginia.
Eric David Harris and Dylan Bennet Klebold were an American mass murder duo who killed 13 people and wounded 24 others on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School in Columbine, Colorado, United States. Harris and Klebold, who were seniors at the school, simultaneously committed suicide in the library, where they had killed ten of their victims. This became known as the Columbine High School massacre. At the time, it was the deadliest school shooting in history, leading it to be one of the most infamous shootings ever perpetrated.

The Northern Illinois University shooting was a school shooting that took place on February 14, 2008, at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Steven Kazmierczak opened fire with a shotgun and three pistols in a crowd of students on campus, killing five students and injuring 17 more people, before fatally shooting himself.

Timothy James McVeigh was an American domestic terrorist who carried out the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people and injured more than 680 others, and destroyed one third of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The bombing was the deadliest act of terrorism in the United States prior to the September 11 attacks. It remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.

On 14 January 2010, Phoebe Prince, an English-Irish high school student residing in South Hadley, Massachusetts, killed herself at the age of 15. Her suicide by hanging led to the criminal prosecution of six teenagers for charges including civil rights violations, as well as to the enactment of stricter anti-bullying legislation by the Massachusetts state legislature.

The Bethel Regional High School shooting was a school shooting that occurred on February 19, 1997, when student Evan Ramsey shot and killed two people and wounded two others at Bethel Regional High School in Bethel, Alaska. Ramsey is serving two 99-year prison sentences and will be eligible for parole in 2066 when he is 85.

Rebecca Ann Sedwick was a 12-year-old American student at Crystal Lake Middle School in Lakeland, Florida who committed suicide by jumping off a concrete silo tower, just 1 month and 10 days before her 13th birthday. Investigation into her death led to a conclusion of in-person and cyberbullying contributing to the decision to take her own life. Sedwick's family later filed a lawsuit in relation to her death.

James T. Rodemeyer was an American teenager known for his activism against homophobia and his videos on YouTube to help victims of homophobic bullying. His suicide was attributed to constant bullying, and led to the proposal of new cyberbullying legislation.

On the evening of May 23, 2014, Elliot Rodger killed six people and injured fourteen others – by gunshot, stabbing and vehicle ramming – in Isla Vista, California near the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), then killed himself.

In 2016, he released his debut single "Sweatshirt", which reached a peak of 90 on the Hot 100 chart in the United States. Jacob Sartorius was the 9th most searched musical artist of 2016.

Sladjana Vidovic was a 16-year-old student at Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio who killed herself by hanging. She had been bullied by several classmates because of the way she looked.

Jeffrey James Weise was an American mass murderer and spree killer who was a student at Red Lake Senior High School in Red Lake, Minnesota, located on the Indian reservation of the Ojibwe people. He murdered nine people in a shooting spree on March 21, 2005.

Kenneth Weishuhn was an American teenager known for his suicide as a result of being bullied for being gay.
