Atractaspis engaddensis, also known as "שרף עין גדי" or "الأسود الخبيث" is a venomous snake found in Sinai, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. It is also referred to as the Israeli mole viper. The specific epithet references the type locality, Ein Gedi on the western shore of the Dead Sea.

Three subspecies are sometimes recognised; A. boskianus boskianus, from Lower Egypt; A. boskianus euphraticus from Iraq; and A. boskianus asper from the rest of the range; however this division is unsatisfactory because each subspecies has much variation and the differences between them are not consistent.

Cerastes cerastes, commonly known as the Saharan horned viper or the horned desert viper, is a venomous species of viper native to the deserts of northern Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula and Levant. It often is easily recognized by the presence of a pair of supraocular "horns", although hornless individuals do occur. Three subspecies have been described.

Cerastes gasperettii, commonly known as the Arabian horned viper, is a venomous viper species found especially in the Arabian Peninsula and north to Israel, Iraq, and Iran. It is very similar in appearance to C. cerastes, but the geographic ranges of these two species do not overlap. No subspecies of C. gasperettii are recognized.

Eurylepis taeniolatus, the ribbon-sided skink, alpine Punjab skink, or yellow-bellied mole skink, is a species of skink found in Central Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. It is the type species of the genus Eurylepis.

Field's horned viper, Pseudocerastes fieldi, is a venomous viper species endemic to the deserts of the Middle East. It was previously considered a subspecies of the Persian horned viper. The main differences between this species and the Persian horned viper are in scalation and venom composition.

Populations reported from Africa are based on misidentifications or have been elevated from subspecies to full species rank, namely Hemidactylus pauciporosus. Hemidactylus yerburyi is named after Colonel Yerbury who saw and/or collected the species.

Omanosaura jayakari, the Jayakar lizard or Jayakar's Oman lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. It is found in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
