
The Blockheide is a protected area near Gmünd in northwestern Waldviertel in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is a varied heather landscape including meadows, mixed woods, small lakes and small fields. The nature park is famous for its far-flung giant granite blocks.
The Hohe Wand region comprises a rock formation with its surrounding area, situated on the Hohe Wand mountain in Austria, that is protected as a nature park. It is located in the Gutenstein Alps in the state of Lower Austria.

Hundsheimer Berg is a nature reserve in the Austrian municipalities of Hundsheim and Hainburg an der Donau in the province of Lower Austria located on the slopes of the Hundsheimer Berg. Half of the reserve is owned by WWF Austria with the other half being owned by the municipality of Hundsheim. The Hundsheimer Berg is for example used for excursions by the University of Vienna.

Kalvarienberg is a nature monument in Neusiedl am See in the state of Burgenland, Austria. The nature monument covers the steep south-eastern slope of the Parndorf Plain, the Wagram.

The peat therapy resort Moorbad Gmös in the vicinity of the town of Laakirchen is one of the few bogs in the Alpine foothills of Upper Austria. The bog dates back to the Mindel glaciation and was created by a "dead-ice hole". In 1987 the local authorities of Upper Austria declared the area of 3.4 ha of the Gmöser Moor a natural preserve. A path around the area has since then given the visitor the opportunity of observing rare flora and fauna. In 2002 the spa was chosen as background scenery for the TV-production Schlosshotel Orth.
The Sandstein-Wienerwald natural park is a natural park near Purkersdorf in the Vienna Woods (Wienerwald), Austria. Although a protected area under Austrian law, it is freely accessible.

The Spannagel Cave is a show cave near Hintertux, in the Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Currently about 10 kilometres of cave have been discovered; guided tours enable access to 500 metres of the cave. Its entrance lies below the Spannagelhaus, a mountain hut formerly run by the Austrian Tourist Club (ÖTK). The cave and the hut are named after Dr. Rudolf Spannagel, who was the president of the ÖTK from 1902 to 1904.

Spitzerberg is a nature reserve in the Austrian municipality of Prellenkirchen in the province of Lower Austria. It forms one of the biggest nature reserves of Lower Austria and is located on the Spitzerberg, the southern extension of the Hundsheimer Berge. The nature reserve has an IUCN category IV protection level and is part of the Natura 2000 area Hundsheimer Berge. The area is covered by rock steppes, dry and half dry grasslands and dry forests. The steep slopes of the Spitzerberg consist of limestone and dolomite. In combination with the very thin humus layer, this creates an extremely dry environment. From 2004 till 2008 the Spitzerberg nature reserve was part of the LIFE-Nature-project Pannonische Steppen- und Trockenrasen.
Tanner Moor is one of the largest moorlands in Austria with a surface area of 120 hectares. Tanner Moor is a Natura 2000 ecologically protected area located on a high granite plateau in the Freistadt district, Mühlviertel, Upper Austria at an average elevation of 900 m.

The Zirbitzkogel, at 2,396 m (AA), is the highest point of the Seetal Alps in Austria. It lies south of the Upper Mur valley in the Styria near its border with Carinthia. The Lavant, a left tributary of the Drau, has its source on the southern slopes of the mountain.
