Bulqizë District was one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It had a population of 42,985 in 2001, and an area of 718 km². Located in the east of the country, its capital was Bulqizë. Its territory is now part of Dibër County, and corresponds with that of the present municipality of Bulqizë.

Dešat or Deshat is a mountain on the border between Albania and North Macedonia. The mountain is characterised by its steep peaks: Mal and Golem Krčin and Velivar. The highest peak on the mountain, Velivar, 2,375 m (7,792 ft) above the sea level. Other significant peaks are: Deli Senica, and Suva Bara. Dešat also has deep river gorges, immense forests, and small glacial mountain lakes. The nearest town from the Albanian side is Peshkopi and from the Macedonian side is Debar.

Mali i Gramës is a mountain in the Albanian part of the Korab mountain range. Mali i Gramës reaches a height of 2,345 metres high. Around the mountain are many lakes including the largest lake on Mount Korab which also shares the name 'Gramë'. It around one and a half kilometres west of Mount Korab itself, to which it is connected to the main part of the mountain by a long ridge.

The Mat is a river in north-central Albania. Its overall length is 115 km (71 mi), while its catchment surface is 2,441 km2 (942 sq mi). Its average discharge is 103 m3/s (3,600 cu ft/s). The main tributary is Fan, flowing from the northeast, while the Mat flows from the southwest down to the confluence with Fan and then towards the Adriatic Sea.

Mat District was one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It had a population of 61,906 in 2001, and an area of 1,028 km². It was named after the river Mat, that flows through the district. Its capital was Burrel. Its territory is now part of Dibër County: the municipalities of Mat and Klos.

Plain of Torvioll

The Plain of Torvioll, or the Plain of Shumbat as it is known today, is located in the Lower Dibra region in eastern Albania, north of Peshkopi. It is most famous for being the battlefield for Skanderbeg's first battle against the Ottoman Empire in the Battle of Torvioll which took place on 29 June 1444. According to a defter gathered by the Ottomans in 1467, the region of Lower Dibra included the northern half of Dibran territory.
