WBoatswain Bird Island, also spelt Boatswainbird Island, is a small island some 270 metres (300 yd) off the east coast of Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean with an area of approximately 5.3 ha. It is administered from Georgetown on Ascension, which is part of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Boatswain Bird Island should not be confused with the nearby, much smaller, Boatswain Bird Rock, only about 10 by 5 metres in size, located 570 metres (620 yd) south-east of the island and 360 metres (390 yd) north-east of the coast of Ascension. The southern coast of the island has an impressive natural arch.

WDiana's Peak is the highest point, at 818 metres (2,684 ft), on the island of Saint Helena, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is of volcanic origin. The mountain and its surroundings with a total area of 81 ha were proclaimed a national park in March 1996, the first on the island. It is a preserve of several endangered endemic species, including tree fern, he cabbage and black cabbage trees, and whitewood. The park contains walking paths connecting the peaks - Mt. Actaeon (814m), Diana's Peak and Cuckold's Point (815m). The two shorter peaks are topped by large Norfolk pines. On the northern slopes there is a nursery for endemic species.

WThe St. Helena Seamount chain, also known as the St. Helena Seamounts, is an underwater chain of seamounts in the southern Atlantic Ocean associated with the Saint Helena hotspot. Origins of the chain are disputed. One view is that it formed from the African Plate moving east over a stationary mantle plume. Another is that it derives from shallow, passive melting along a zone of lithospheric extension resulting from changes in plate motion and stress fields in response to plate interactions elsewhere.
WSt Matthew Island is a phantom island once thought to lie roughly one thousand kilometers northeast of Ascension Island in the Atlantic Ocean. It appeared on navigational charts until as late as the early twentieth century. It was supposedly located at approximately 2°S 8°W, and was alleged to have been discovered by the Portuguese on St. Matthew's Day 1516. It was shown and named on several maps going back to the beginning of the sixteenth century, and it was supposedly visited by García Jofre de Loaísa on 20 October 1525 while on a voyage to the Moluccas. It appeared on early Portuguese charts and world maps, and appears on Ortelius' 1570 map of the African continent Africae Tabula Nova. It thereafter regularly featured on charts and maps, and though it began to disappear from standard charts starting in the early nineteenth century, it was not completely removed from charts until the early twentieth century.

WTwo Boats is a village at the foot of Green Mountain, Ascension Island, about 3 miles from Wideawake Airfield. It has a population of about 120 and is residential in nature. Two Boats is also the site of the Two Boats Club, a large fresh water swimming pool, children's playground, and Two Boats School, the island's only school. The two boats were originally placed to provide shade for Royal Marines transporting water in the 19th century.
