
Akurey is a small island near the coast of Reykjavík. The earliest sources on the island are from 1379 when it belonged to the Víkurkirkja. The city of Reykjavík bought the island in 1969 and has leased it out. In 1978 it was incorporated into the municipality of Reykjavík.

Austurvöllur is a public square in Reykjavík, Iceland. The square is a popular gathering place for the citizens of Reykjavík, and especially during good weather due to the prevalence of cafés on Vallarstræti and Pósthússtræti. It has also been a focal point of protests due to the close location to the Parliament of Iceland.
The river Elliðaár is situated in the Reykjavík area in the south-west of Iceland. Two small rivers have their source in the volcanic mountain range of Bláfjöll and stream down to Elliðavatn lake at the eastern suburban border of the city, its outlet forming the river. On their way, they pass through the nature reserve area of Heiðmörk.

Greater Reykjavík is a region in southwestern Iceland that comprises the national capital Reykjavík and six municipalities around it. Each municipality has its own elected council. Municipal governments cooperate extensively in various fields: for example waste policy, shared public transport and a joint fire brigade.
Hafravatn is a small lake on the eastern outskirts of Reykjavík, Iceland. Located at 76 m above sea level, it has an area of 1.02 km² with a greatest depth of 28 m. The Seljadalsa River flows into it from the east and its discharge is Ulfarsfellsa. A small village lies on the northern bank of the lake and a paragliding take-off point on its eastern side. The smaller lake of Langavatn lies to its southwest.
Heiðmörk was proclaimed a municipal conservation area of Reykjavík in 1950. It is located southeast of Elliðavatn, Iceland, and is about 6 miles (9.7 km) from the city of Reykjavík. Its name is derived from its namesake in Norway, Hedmark, an area with deep forests.

Lækjartorg is a square in downtown Reykjavík, Iceland. It is located in Kvosin south of Reykjavík Harbor, where Bankastræti, Lækjargata and Austurstræti meet. Reykjavík District Court faces the square.

Laugarnes is a quarter in Reykjavík, Iceland. It contains a historic site were the remains of a large farm mound are still visible.

Nauthólsvík is a small neighbourhood in Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland, about 900 metres (3,000 ft) from Perlan. It has a beach with an artificial hot spring.

Norðurmýri is a neighborhood of central Reykjavík, Iceland.
The Rauðhólar are remnants of a cluster of rootless cones in Elliðaárhraun lava fields on the south-eastern outskirts of Reykjavík, Iceland next to the South Iceland part of Hringvegur, the Suðurlandsvegur.

Reykjavík Botanic Garden is a botanical garden located in the district of Laugardalur in Reykjavík that was established on August 18, 1961 on the 175th anniversary of the city.

Reykjavík Constituency North is one of the six constituencies of Iceland. Its consists of northern parts of Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland. It elects 11 members to the Althing.

Reykjavík Constituency South is one of the six constituencies of Iceland. Its consists of southern parts of Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland. It elects 11 members to the Althing.

Þverfellshorn is a peak in the Esjan mountains of Capital Region in southwestern Iceland. It is located roughly 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) by air northeast of Reykjavík. It is one of the most visited peaks in Iceland, attracting hikers for its scenic views. Its elevation range is 820 metres (2,690 ft) - 840 metres (2,760 ft). The car park at the foot of the mountain is known as "Mógilsá".

The Vatnsmýrin Nature Reserve is a protected moorland in Reykjavík, Iceland. The reserve provides a water source for Tjörnin Lake and is a nesting ground for birds. It borders the Nordic House and the University of Iceland. The area within the Reserve including drains and fences, and measures 37,026 square metres (398,540 sq ft). Eighty-three species of vascular plants are documented. Biodiversity has been inhibited due to invasive animals and plants as well as industrial waste.
