
Cherbourg Harbour, is a harbour situated at the northern end of the Cotentin Peninsula, on the English Channel coastline, in Normandy, northwestern France. With a surface area of 1,500 hectares, it is the second largest artificial harbour in the world, after the 4,500 hectare Ras Laffan Harbour in Qatar. As well as Cherbourg Naval Base, it has been used for mercantile shipping.

The Dover–Dunkerque train ferry was one of two regular rail freight train ferries that operated between the United Kingdom and Europe. The route connected the English port of Dover, with the French port of Dunkerque. After rationalisation of other Anglo-European train ferries, the Dover to Dunkerque sailing was the last to survive, though it ended its days on freight carryings only after the Night Ferry passenger service ended in 1980. The last Dover to Dunkerque wagon-freight ferry service became redundant upon the opening of the Channel Tunnel when freight was carried directly through the Channel Tunnel.

The Port of Honfleur, Port de Honfleur, is the harbour of the Norman town of Honfleur, France. Expeditions to Quebec from this harbour led to its foundation.

The Port of Le Havre is the Port and port authority of the French city of Le Havre. It is the second-largest commercial port in France in terms of overall tonnage, and the largest container port, with three sets of terminals. It can accommodate all sizes of world cruise liners, and a major new marina is being planned. Le Havre is linked to Portsmouth, England, by Brittany Ferries.

The Old Port of Marseille is at the end of the Canebière, the major street of Marseille. It has been the natural harbour of the city since antiquity and is now the main popular place in Marseille. It became mainly pedestrian in 2013.

Marseille Fos Port is the main trade seaport of France. In 2011, the port had an overall traffic of 88 million tons. It was also one of the 15 world's largest cruise ports and the fifth-largest in the Mediterranean.

The Port de l'Embouchure is one of the two ports located in Toulouse on the Canal du Midi. The other being the Port Saint-Sauveur. This port is located in the basin at the Ponts Jumeaux. From the basin are found the entrances to the canals Canal de Garonne, Canal du Midi and Canal de Brienne.

The Port de la Daurade is found on the right bank of the Garonne River in Toulouse. Boats leave from here for travel on the Garonne and the Canal du Midi. The Canal de Brienne is near as is the bazacle.

The Port of Calais is a port in Calais, northern France. The port is the fourth largest port in France and the largest for passenger traffic. It accounts for more than a third of economic activity in the town of Calais.

The Port of Deauville is the harbour of the town of Deauville, France.
The Port of Gennevilliers is the largest port in the Ile-de-France and the largest French river port. It is located in the commune of Gennevilliers in the north of the Hauts-de-Seine.
The Port of Kergroise is a commercial port located in the district of Kergroise, Lorient, on the south coast of Brittany, France. It is owned by the Region of Brittany since 2007 and managed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morbihan. Based on the annual tonnage processed, it is ranked as the 14th most important commercial port in France.

The Port Saint-Sauveur is one of the two river ports located in Toulouse on the Canal du Midi. The other being the Port de l'Embouchure.
Port Vauban is a French yachting harbor located in Antibes on the French Riviera. Originally a natural harbor in use since before the Roman Empire, the port was fortified by Sébastien Le Prestre, Seigneur de Vauban, later Marquis de Vauban, King Louis XIV's military engineer.

The French port of Saint-Goustan is a former fishing port and trading centre situated beside the river Auray In modern times it has become one of the quarters of the commune of Auray in the department of Morbihan in Brittany.

The Port of Trouville-sur-Mer is the harbour of the city of Trouville-sur-Mer, France. The large town's position on the estuary of the River Touques was a natural establishment of a fish dock.
