Harbor Point is an affluent redevelopment district located in the South End section of Stamford, Connecticut, in southwestern Fairfield County. It is made up of five distinct areas, each centered on a park or waterfront feature. It is currently one of the largest redevelopment projects in the nation. A transit-oriented, mixed-use development near the Stamford Transportation Center on Long Island Sound, Harbor Point includes more than 2,360 new apartments, with office space, restaurants, shops, marinas, a waterfront boardwalk, and several public parks.

The Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in Stamford, Connecticut contains 93 acres of parkland, gardens, landscapes, and hiking trails that focus on the regional plants, ecology and character of Southwestern New England. The Arboretum is open and accessible to the public every day of the year and is located at 151 Brookdale Road.

The Connecticut panhandle is the southwestern appendage of Connecticut, where it abuts New York State. It is contained entirely in Fairfield County and includes all of Greenwich, Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien, as well as parts of Norwalk and Wilton. The East Side of Stamford, Connecticut is a neighborhood southeast of Downtown, north of Shippan, and northwest of The Cove and south of Glenbrook. It is mostly to the south of Interstate 95 but covers both sides of East Main Street. Stamford’s East Main Street is part of U.S. Route 1. Before I-95 was built in the early 60′s, Route 1 was Connecticut’s most critical highway. Its physical location follows old 18th century mail routes and toll roads. It is still referred to in some communities as “the King’s Highway” or “the Boston Post Road.” Stamford’s growth can be traced by looking at the changes that have occurred along East Main Street. Little more than 100 years ago there was, by comparison to today, almost no development between Elm Street and the Noroton River. However, the East Side – bounded by Glenbrook Road and Hamilton Avenue to the North; Cove Rd to the South; Weed Ave to the East; and Grove and Elm Streets to the West – are easily identifiable on turn of the century maps.

Glenbrook is a section of the city of Stamford, Connecticut. It is located on the eastern side of the city, east of Downtown, north of the East Side and the Cove sections and south of the Springdale section. To the west is Downtown Stamford and to the northwest is Belltown. To the east is Darien.

The Long Ridge Village Historic District is a historic district in the city of Stamford, Connecticut. The district, located in rural northern Stamford near the border with New York, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Although the district includes a few early 19th-century properties, the area was most heavily developed between 1850 and 1920, and was a local center of shoe manufacturing until it was bypassed by railroads, sending the business nearer to downtown Stamford. The district extends along Old Long Ridge Road, and includes several property on adjacent Rock Rimmon Road. There are 34 historically significant houses, and two churches.

The Mianus River is a 20.3-mile-long (32.7 km) river in Westchester County, New York, and Fairfield County, Connecticut, in the United States. It begins in the town of North Castle, New York in a series of ponds at about 600 feet (180 m) altitude. Flowing northeast into the town of Bedford, it abruptly turns south and passes through the Mianus River Gorge, a nature preserve, before entering Stamford, Connecticut, where it is dammed into the Mianus Reservoir, officially known as the Samuel J. Bargh Reservoir of the Greenwich Water Company. From there, it flows south through Stamford and Greenwich into Long Island Sound, at sea level.

Treetops is the former estate of torch singer and actress Libby Holman. It forms the southernmost part of Mianus River Park and is overseen by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection as the Mianus River State Park.

Mill River Park is 12-acre urban park located in Stamford, Connecticut which separates Downtown from the West Side.

The Noroton River is a 9.4-mile-long (15.1 km) stream flowing into Holly Pond and forming most of the border between Stamford and Darien, Connecticut, United States. The river's headwaters are in New Canaan, Connecticut. It is the largest flowing body of water between Mill River/Rippowam River to the west and Five Mile River to the east, although Stony Brook and the Goodwives River in Darien are not much smaller.

The Revonah Manor Historic District is a 23.1-acre (9.3 ha) predominantly residential historic district in Stamford, Connecticut that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The district encompasses what was one of Stamford's first planned residential developments, developed by Herman Henneberg and his son-in-law Henry Jevne, with many houses designed by Lawrence Barnard. The result was a remarkable concentration of fairly uniformly-designed Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival houses in a three-block area. Most of the houses are on Urban, Chester, and Fifth Streets, between Revonah Avenue and Bedford Street.

The Rippowam River is a river in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It drains a watershed area of 37.5 square miles (97 km2) and flows for 17 miles (27 km) from Ridgefield to Long Island Sound, which it enters in Stamford's harbor.

Shippan Point is the southernmost neighborhood in Stamford, Connecticut, United States, located on a peninsula in Long Island Sound. Street names such as Ocean Drive West and Lighthouse Way reflect the neighborhood's shoreline location. It is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city, with about 1100 homes.

The South End of Stamford, Connecticut is a rapidly growing neighborhood located at the southern end of the city, just south of the Downtown neighborhood. It is expected to be greatly changed with redevelopment over the next decade, including the massive Harbor Point redevelopment. The South End is a peninsula bordered by Stamford's Central Business District and Interstate 95 to the North and almost totally by water on all other sides, with few streets linking it to other neighborhoods. It contains some industrial tracts, several old factory buildings, many small homes and apartment buildings, and a number of office buildings. Most of the neighborhood has been designated as the South End Historic District which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A high-risk flood zone, Stamford's South End is the location of the Stamford Hurricane Protection Barrier, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Springdale is a section or neighborhood in Stamford, Connecticut. It is known around Stamford to have a small-town feel in the middle of a mid-sized city. Springdale offers both older, relatively modest homes in the lower Springdale area along with more expensive real estate toward the woodsy and affluent North Stamford section. Home of Mulberry Street.
