
Bechiyal, also variously Bechiel or Bechyal, is a village in the municipality of Maap in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. When visited in the 1984 it had a population of about ten. The village was once larger, with a documented population of about 200 in the early 20th century. There are a significant number of stone platforms, sites where houses would have stood, and the village site is considered archaeologically sensitive. It was listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Colonia is an urban area belonging to the municipalities of Rull and Weloy which serves as the capital of the State of Yap, one of the Federated States of Micronesia. It administers both Yap proper and some 13 atolls and islands reaching to the east and south for some 800 kilometres. It is the westernmost point of Micronesia.

Dalipebinau is a village and municipality in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. It lies on the west side of the Yap island, north of Yap International Airport.

Eauripik Island is a coral atoll of three islands in the western Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Its total land area is only 23.6 hectares 0.236 square kilometres (0.091 sq mi), but it encloses a deep lagoon of 5.921 square kilometres (2.286 sq mi). With light southwest winds, there are usually breakers on both sides of the atoll. All of the islets are covered with coconut palms. There used to be five islets, but two were washed away in the late 1970s by typhoon waves. Eauripik is located approximately 108 kilometres (67 mi) southwest of Woleai.

Elato is a coral atoll of three islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. It is located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of Lamotrek. Its population was 96 in 2000, living on 0.5 km2.

Fais Island is a raised coral island in the eastern Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Fais Island is located approximately 87 kilometres (54 mi) east of Ulithi and 251 kilometres (156 mi) northeast of Yap and is the closest land to Challenger Deep, about 180 miles away.

Fanif is a municipality in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. Fanif encompasses the northwesternmost part of the main island and is the location of Yap proper's highest point, Mount Taabiywol, at 178 meters/584. Gilfith is the head village of Fanif. Fanif straddles the northern part of the main Island of Yap and includes the villages of Yyin, Quayrech, Ruunuw, Wuluuq, Malawaay, Rumuuq, Qatliw, and Raeng. It has two elementary schools, Fanif and North Fanif. A paved road runs through the villages along the northwest coast of Fanif into Weloy to the South and connecting into the Tomil - Colonia Road to the Northeast. Faraulep Atoll is a coral atoll of three islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Its total land area is only 0.422 square kilometres (0.163 sq mi), but it encloses a deep central lagoon of 7 square kilometres (2.7 sq mi) with a single opening on the southwest side. Faraulep is located approximately 100 kilometres (62 mi) southwest of Gaferut, 150 kilometres (93 mi) northeast of Woleai, and 700 kilometres (430 mi) east of Yap.

Gaferut Atoll is an outlying atoll in the State of Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia. The northernmost of the eastern group of islands of Yap, it is located 100 kilometers northeast of Faraulep and 790 kilometers east of Yap island.

Gagil is a municipality in the state of Yap. It forms part of Gagil-Tamil Island and covers the eastern side of the island. It has a population of roughly 400 people scattered in village groups. One of these villages includes the village of Gachpar which was once the capital of the historic Yap Islands Empire that lasted from about 10th to the 15th century AD and stretched as far as east as the west halls of Chuuk Lagoon, as far south as the northern atolls of Papua New Guinea, and as far west as the outer islands of Palau. The Yap Islands Empire centered in Gagil and the Tui Tonga Empire of Tonga, are the only empires that existed in the ancient history of the Pacific Islands.

Gilman is a village and municipality in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. It lies on the south side of the Yap island. Six villages or hamlets are integrated there : Anoth, Gachlaw, Guror, Magchagil, Thabeth and Towoway. The population was 252 in 2010.

Ifalik is a coral atoll of four islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Ifalik is located approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) east of Woleai and 700 kilometres (430 mi) southeast of the island of Yap. The population of Ifalik was 561 in 2000, living on 1.5 km2. The primary islets of Ifalik are called Ella, Elangelap, Rawaii, and Falalop, which is the atoll's main island.

Lamotrek is a coral atoll of three islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. The atoll is located approximately 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) east of Elato. The population of Lamotrek was 373 in 2000, living on almost 1 km2.

Maap is an island and village and municipality in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. It lies on the north east of the archipelago of Yap.

Ngulu Atoll is a coral atoll of three islands in the Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Ngulu extends for 36 kilometres (22 mi) by 22 kilometres (14 mi) with 18 reef segments enclosing a deep central lagoon of 382 square kilometres (147 sq mi). The eastern portion of the reef is deeply submerged. Its total land area of the nine islets is only 0.4 square kilometres (0.15 sq mi). Nugulu is located approximately 104 kilometres (65 mi) south-southwest of Yap and is the westernmost atoll in the Federated States of Micronesia. The population of Ngulu was 26 in 2000.

Rull is a municipality in the southern part of the island Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. It has a traditional dancing ground. Rull has a population of 1,847. The historic Rull Men's Meetinghouse is located within the town.

Satawal is a solitary coral atoll of one island with about 500 people on just over 1 km2 located in the Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean It forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Satawal is the easternmost island in the Yap island group and is located approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) east of Lamotrek.

Sorol is a coral atoll of nine islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Sorol is located approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) south of Ulithi and 250 kilometres (160 mi) southeast of the island of Yap. Sorol has been uninhabited since the early 1980s. Sorol is a municipality with the state of Yap.

Tomil or Tamil is a municipality on the island of Yap, in the Federated States of Micronesia. It consists of twelve distinctive villages: Meerur, Teb, Aff, Bugol, Doomchuy, Deechmur, Dilag (uninhabited), Maa', Thol, Madl'ay, Gargey, and Daaboch. Tomil occupies the southern portion of Gagil-Tamil Island, except for Gargey village, which is located on the main island of Yap.

Ulithi is an atoll in the Caroline Islands of the western Pacific Ocean, about 191 km (103 nmi) east of Yap. It consists of 40 islets totalling 4.5 km2, surrounding a lagoon about 36 km (22 mi) long and up to 24 km (15 mi) wide—at 548 km2 (212 sq mi) one of the largest in the world. It is administered by the state of Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia. Ulithi's population was 773 in 2000. There are four inhabited islands on Ulithi Atoll. They are Falalop, Asor (Yasor), Mogmog (Mwagmwog), and Fedarai (Fedraey). Falalop is the most accessible with Ulithi Airport, a small resort hotel, store and one of three public high schools in Yap state. Mogmog is the seat of the high chief of Ulithi Atoll though each island has its own chief. Other important islands are Losiap, Sorlen (Sohl'oay), and Potangeras (Potoangroas).

Weloy is a village and municipality in the state of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia.

Woleai, also known as Oleai, is a coral atoll of twenty-two islands in the eastern Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district in the Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia and is located approximately 57 kilometres (35 mi) west-northwest of Ifalik and 108 kilometres (67 mi) northeast of Eauripik. Woleai is also the name of the largest of the islets constituting the atoll, lying to the northeast.
