Districts of Seychelles

Seychelles is divided into 26 districts. All but one are located on the Inner Islands; the Outer Islands make up the most recent district. Eight of the districts make up Greater Victoria, 14 are located in the rural part of the main island of Mahé, two on Praslin, and one on La Digue.

It is often described as a fishing village because many of the local residents fish for a living. It has a school, a restaurant, a number of grocery shops, a health centre, and a police station. It is a short distance away from Anse La Mouche, a popular tourist destination. Anse Boileau is so-called because of its many coves.

The population of Takamata is estimated at around 3,000.
