He first appeared in Assassin's Creed: Desert Oath, the prequel novel to the video game Assassin's Creed Origins where he serves as the main protagonist. Faris Scherwiz is a fictional character in the Final Fantasy series. She first appears in Final Fantasy V as an early antagonist and later one of its protagonists. She was born Princess Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon, but was lost at sea and raised as a boy by pirates. She joins the group, hoping to understand why protagonist Lenna Charlotte Tycoon has the same pendant as her. She was created by Hironobu Sakaguchi and was based on the protagonist of the manga Princess Knight. Her promotional artwork was created by Yoshitaka Amano. She was originally intended to be a gambler, but this was changed when the writers determined it did not fit with the world of Final Fantasy V. In the first English version of Final Fantasy V, she spoke with a pirate accent, which was changed in the Game Boy Advance port of Final Fantasy V. The accent was the subject of criticism. Faris was otherwise well-received, identified as a standout of the game's cast and a strong female character.

Since its premiere in 1990, the Hugo game show has been aired in more than 40 countries, spawning dozens of video games for various platforms. Vivi Ornitier is a fictional character in the Final Fantasy series. He first appears in the video game Final Fantasy IX, where he serves as one of the game's protagonists. He is a shy character who through Final Fantasy IX grapples with the trauma of discovering his past and identity. He is a Black Mage, a class of magic users who employ fire, ice, lightning, and other elements into their magic. His design took inspiration from the film The Dark Crystal and was meant to appear both realistic and comic-like. He had part of the game's world designed around him. He has appeared in other Final Fantasy spin-off games such as the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts II, and World of Final Fantasy. A felt doll of Vivi was included with pre-orders of the Japanese original release of Final Fantasy IX.

Wario is a fictional character in Nintendo's Mario series, designed as an arch-rival to Mario. He first appeared in the 1992 Game Boy game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as the main antagonist and final boss. His name is a portmanteau of Mario's name and the Japanese word warui (悪い), meaning "bad". Wario was designed by Hiroji Kiyotake, and is voiced by Charles Martinet, who voices many other characters in the series, such as Mario, Luigi, and Waluigi.
