Sengkang is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. The town is the second most populous in the region, being home to 244,600 residents in 2019. Sengkang shares boundaries with Seletar and Punggol in the north, Pasir Ris and Paya Lebar in the east, Hougang and Serangoon to the south, as well as Yishun and Ang Mo Kio to the west.

The Asian Highway 143 is part of the Asian Highway Network. It connects from Buangkok East Drive (Sengkang) all the way to Senai North Interchange.

Anchorvale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town in Singapore which is located between Sungei Punggol and Compassvale. The house numbers of the public apartment blocks in Anchorvale begin with the number '3' (3xx). These housing estates were fully completed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) in 2001.

Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north eastern region of Singapore. The constituency encompasses the majority of Ang Mo Kio, Seletar Hills, the northern half of Serangoon North, a portion of northern Hougang, Jalan Kayu and a portion of Fernvale. The western portion consists of parts of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, while in the northeastern corner, it borders the Straits of Johor with two reclaimed islands, Pulau Punggol Barat and Pulau Punggol Timor. The northeast also includes the Sengkang Floating Wetland.

Located underneath Sengkang Central near the junction with Compassvale Bow, Buangkok station is one of the two MRT stations located within the Sengkang planning area and serves the town of Buangkok.

The mall was built as an integrated development together with a condominium, Compass Heights which is located adjacent to the mall. Originally opened on 1 August 2002, the mall closed for extensive renovation works on 26 October 2015 and re-opened on 1 September 2016.

Compassvale Bus Interchange, located opposite Sengkang Bus Interchange, is a bus interchange in Sengkang, Singapore, built to increase the capacity of the existing interchange. It is bordered by Compassvale Road, Sengkang East Way and Sengkang Square. Despite its name, it is not located near LRT station with the same name, but is actually named after the road which it is located at, Compassvale Road near Sengkang MRT/LRT station.

Fernvale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town in Singapore. It is located between Sungei Punggol and the proposed Sengkang West Industrial Estate. The house numbers of the public apartment blocks in Fernvale begin with the number '4' (4xx). Fernvale is the newest neighbourhood in Sengkang Town to be completed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Seletar Mall, a new shopping amenity which houses Sengkang's first cineplex, is located within this neighbourhood. In 2017, A proposed community facility to be located next to Seletar Mall was announced, which houses a community club, childcare centre, hawker centre and wet market. The community facility which was slated to be ready by the second half of 2020, had stopped construction in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 measures set by the government.

Jalan Kayu is a road situated in Sengkang, Singapore. It is located in the northwestern part of Fernvale, near the Seletar–Sengkang boundary.

The Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) is the third newest of Singapore's network of expressways. The southern (Kallang) section of the expressway opened first, on 26 October 2007, with the remaining section opened on 20 September 2008.

The constituency currently consists of Pasir Ris and parts of the Punggol town area. There are a total of 5 divisions in the GRC. They are Pasir Ris Central, Pasir Ris West, Pasir Ris East, Punggol Shore and Punggol Coast.

Pei Hwa Secondary School (PHSS) is a co-educational government-aided secondary school in Fernvale Link, Singapore within walking distance of Fernvale and Layar LRT stations. Re-established in 2005, Pei Hwa Secondary School was first founded in 1934 as Pei Hwa Public School.

Punggol East Single Member Constituency was a former Single Member Constituency located in the north-eastern area of Singapore. Despite its name, the ward did not cover the town of Punggol but rather the neighbourhood of Rivervale, the eastern area of Sengkang. This ward was carved out during the 2011's General Election and was formerly a ward from the Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC.

Punggol West Single Member Constituency is a Single Member Constituency located in the north-eastern area of Singapore formed in 2020. The constituency is carved out from Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC. The incumbent MP is Sun Xueling.

Rivervale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town located between Sungei Serangoon and Compassvale. The block numbers of the public apartment blocks in Rivervale begin with the number '1' (1xx). Rivervale was the first neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town to be built, and many of the existing housing estates in Rivervale were completed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) as early as 1997.

Sengkang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located on the ground level of Compass Heights condominium in the town centre of Sengkang New Town, Singapore. Located next to Sengkang MRT/LRT station, it is the second bus interchange in Singapore to be air conditioned. It was opened on 18 January 2003.

Sengkang Depot is a train depot in Sengkang, Singapore operated by SBS Transit. It is the first co-location of facilities for both the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT). It maintains the trains for the North East line, Sengkang LRT line and Punggol LRT line and also houses the control centre of the three lines.

Sengkang Riverside Park is a riverine park located at Anchorvale Street and Fernvale Street abutting Sungei Punggol, Singapore. The park consist of three open-space land parcels and is also home to a constructed wetland. The Sengkang Sports Centre is located just adjacent to the riverine park, connected by a floating wetland.

Sengkang Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern region of Singapore. The constituency consists parts of the Sengkang town area. The four divisions of the GRC are Anchorvale, Rivervale, Compassvale and Buangkok.

The Sengkang LRT line is a 10.7-kilometre (6.6 mi) automated guideway transit line in Singapore. The line, which initially opened on 18 January 2003, connects the residential districts and suburbs of Sengkang to Sengkang Town Centre, where it connects with the North East MRT line, Sengkang Bus Interchange, Compass One and Compassvale Bus Interchange. It is the second line of the LRT system in Singapore and like all other LRT lines, it is fully elevated and uses automated trains. It is the first LRT line to be operated by SBS Transit.

Sengkang Public Library is a public library owned by the National Library Board situated inside Compass One in Sengkang New Town, and it occupies levels 3 and 4. It is near Sengkang Bus Interchange and the Sengkang MRT/LRT station.

The ward covers the western area of Sengkang, between Sengkang East Road and Fernvale Road. This ward was carved out during the 2011 General Election and was formerly a ward from the Ang Mo Kio GRC.

Sungei Punggol is a river located within the North-East Region in Singapore.

Sungei Serangoon is a river in the north-eastern part of Singapore. The 8-kilometre river starts as a canal near Tampines Road, and flows through Hougang, where it is joined by tributary Sungei Pinang just before Sengkang, before flowing towards Lorong Halus, where it is joined by another tributary Sungei Blukar, before emptying into the Serangoon Harbour. The river is also known as the Serangoon Estuary. Since 2011, the river has been converted into a reservoir - Serangoon Reservoir.

The Tampines Expressway is a highway in the north-eastern fringe of Singapore, joining the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) near Singapore Changi Airport in the east with the Central Expressway (CTE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE) in the north of the island.
