The city of Altai is the capital of the Govi-Altai province (aimag) in western Mongolia. The capital is officially named Yesönbulag sum. It is not to be confused with the separate sum also named Altai in the south of the aimag. City population is 15,800

The city administrative unit's official name is Kherlen sum, with area of 281 square kilometres or 108 square miles. It is situated at the Kherlen River, at an elevation of 747 metres or 2,451 feet above sea level.

Chuluunkhoroot, also Ereentsav (Эрээнцав), is a sum (district) center in the Dornod Province, Mongolia. It is located very close to the Russian-Mongolian border, and sees frequent visits from Solov'yovsk on the Russian side.

Naran is a district (bag) in the Govi-Altai Aimag of Mongolia, in the Yesönbulag sum to the east of the Aimag-capital Altai City. It is located at 46°6'0N 96°30'0E with an altitude of 2212 metres.

The seat of the district is Bilüü, situated 46 kilometres (29 mi) west of the city of Ölgii and 1,682 kilometres (1,045 mi) from the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator. It is primarily inhabited by ethnic Kazakhs. As of 2014 it had a population of 8010 people.

Zamyn-Üüd is a sum (district) of Dornogovi Province in southeastern Mongolia. Its population was 11,527 in 2008.

Züünkharaa is a city, the center of the Mandal sum (district) of Selenge Province in northern Mongolia. The city population is about 15,000 (2004).

Zuunmod is the administrative seat of Mongolia's Töv Province. It has a population of 16,953 (2017) inhabitants and an area of 19.18 square kilometres. Zuunmod is located on the south side of Bogd Khan Mountain, 43 kilometres (27 mi) south of the capital city of Ulaanbaatar.
