
The Agricultural University of Iceland is an educational and research institution focusing on agricultural and environmental sciences, founded in 2005. The university's facilities are mainly located at Hvanneyri, near Borgarnes, Iceland but it also operates research stations in Reykjavík, Árnessýsla and Eyjafjarðarsýsla.

Akureyrarkirkja or The Church of Akureyri is a prominent Lutheran church at Akureyri in northern Iceland. Located in the centre of the city, it was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson (1887–1950) and completed in 1940.

Alþingishúsið is a classical 19th century structure which stands by Austurvöllur in central Reykjavík, Iceland. It houses Alþingi, the Icelandic parliament. The building was designed by Danish architect Ferdinand Meldahl and built using hewn dolerite from 1880 to 1881.
Árnagarður is a building in Reykjavík, Iceland, located on the campus of the University of Iceland. It is named after the 18th century scholar Árni Magnússon, and houses the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies.

Gamli Garður is a dormitory at Iceland's Háskóli Íslands, first opened in 1934. It is Iceland's oldest residence hall and the oldest building still standing on campus. International scholarship recipients reside at the dormitory for the duration of their stay. The dormitory was originally employed to house Icelandic students exclusively and currently serves as a hotel during the summer. It contains 43 single 12-square-metre (130 sq ft) rooms.
Gjögur Airport is an airport serving the small population of the Árneshreppur district in the Westfjords of north-west Iceland, on the coast of Húnaflói bay. Höfn Glacier Museum was a museum in Höfn in eastern Iceland. It had a variety of displays on the geology, ecology and history of the nearby Vatnajökull glacier and various enactments of explorer tents and models and climbing ropes from the Jöklafari Expedition of 1950. It closed in 2013.

Iceland College of Education was a normal college in Iceland. It merged with the University of Iceland in July 2008 and is now called the School of Education. Enrollment was around 2300 students with more than half of them being distance learning students. The university offered B.A., Bf B Ed. and B.S degree programmes as well as M.Ed. and doctorate degrees.

Iceland University of the Arts is an Icelandic institution of higher education, located in Reykjavík, which offers the only university-level degrees in the arts in Iceland. The institution was founded on 21 September 1998 by consolidating the Iceland Drama School and the Reykjavík Arts School, and classes began in autumn 1999. It has five departments: Art education, Design and Architecture, Fine Arts, Music, and Theatre and Dance.

The Icelandic Museum of Design and Applied Art is a museum of product and furniture design in the town Garðabær, near Reykjavík in Iceland. The collection was started in 1998, but the museum did not open until 2010. It has a permanent exhibition consisting mainly of Scandinavian design objects of the last hundred years. It also holds events and temporary exhibitions.

The National Gallery of Iceland is an art museum in Reykjavík which contains a collection of Icelandic art. The gallery features artwork of famous Icelandic artists and artwork that helps explain the traditional Icelandic culture.

The National Museum of Iceland was established on 24 February 1863, with Jón Árnason the first curator of the Icelandic collection, previously kept in Danish museums. The second curator, Sigurður Guðmundsson, advocated the creation of an antiquarian collection, and the museum was called the Antiquarian Collection until 1911.

It is the tallest building in Iceland, surpassing Hallgrímskirkja in height, and is the fifth tallest architectural structure in the country after the Eiðar longwave transmitter, the masts of Naval Radio Transmitter Facility Grindavik and longwave radio mast Hellissandur.

The Stúdentspróf is an educational diploma in Iceland, which allows them to matriculate at university and take up their studies. Studies leading to the Stúdentspróf generally take three years to complete, and most students finish their Stúdentspróf in their 19th year of age, after 13 years of formal schooling. The grading scale ranges in steps of 0.5 from 0 to 10, 10 being the highest.
