WAkiéni is a small town in Lekoni-Lekori Department in Haut-Ogooue in north-eastern Gabon. It lies along the road to Leconi and is set in a valley on the northern side of the Baniaka River. It is served by Akieni Airport.
WBakoumba is a town in south eastern Gabon with a population of around 2,500 - 3000 people. It lies south west of Moanda and was the headquarters for the COMILOG Cableway, carrying manganese from Moanda to Mbinda in Republic of Congo. The cable car closed in 1986.
WFranceville is one of the four largest cities in Gabon, with a population of 110,568 at the 2013 census. It lies on the River Mpassa and at the end of the Trans-Gabon Railway and the N3 road. It grew from a village named Masuku when Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza chose it to resettle former slaves and renamed it Francheville in 1880. The city later came to be called Franceville.
WLékoni is a town in south eastern Gabon, lying east of Bongoville on the Lekoni River, surrounded by the Batéké Plateau. It is known for the Léconi Canyons and Léconi Park, a private wildlife park also involved in agriculture.
WMoanda is one of the largest towns in Gabon, lying on the N3 road in Haut Ogooué. It is also one of the most important manganese mining towns in the world, under the auspices of the Compagnie Minière de l'Ogooué (COMILOG), which began mining in 1957. Moanda has a population of around 39,298 inhabitants and is the second largest city in the Haut Ogooué Region, after Franceville. It is also a border town, lying 100 km away from the border with the Republic of Congo.
WMounana is a town in Gabon. It lies on the N3 road and from 1958 until the 1990s was a major uranium mining centre. The mine is now closed, and it is now primarily a centre for agriculture. According to the 1993 census it had a population of 6,372 and in 2013 it had an estimated population of 12,437.
WOkondja is a town in Haut-Ogooué province, eastern Gabon. It is the capital of the Sebe-Brikolo Department. According to the 1993 census it had a population of 5,193 and in 2013 it had an estimated population of 10,136. It lies along National Route 15 and is served by Okondja Airport. There are significant manganese reserves in the area. There is an old cinema at Okandja named Sébé Cinema.
