The Bregenz Forest is one of the main regions in the state of Vorarlberg (Austria). It overlaps, but is not coterminous with, the Bregenz Forest Mountains, which belong to a range of the Northern Limestone Alps, specifically the northern flysch zone. It is the drainage basin of the Bregenzer Ach river.
The Bucklige Welt is a region in southeast Lower Austria. It is also known as the "land of a thousand hills".

The Gneiss and Granite Plateau (German: Granit- und Gneisplateau, also called the Granite and Gneiss Highland, is one of the five major landscapes in Austria. It forms the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel in the states of Upper and Lower Austria. Geologically it is the Austrian part of the Bohemian Massif.

The Joglland is a heavily forested low mountain region in northeastern Styria in the districts of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld and Weiz. Today it forms the tourist region of Joglland–Waldheimat .
The Salzkammergut is a resort area located in Austria, stretching from the city of Salzburg eastwards along the Alpine Foreland and the Northern Limestone Alps to the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains. The main river of the region is the Traun, a right tributary of the Danube.
The Tyrolean Oberland is that part of the Austrian state of Tyrol west of Innsbruck or, more precisely, west of the Melach river, but excluding the Außerfern region.

The Tyrolean Unterland is that part of the Austrian state of Tyrol east of its capital city, Innsbruck, excluding East Tyrol.
