
The Cave of Pëllumbas is a karst cave in central Albania, located in the Skorana Gorge close to the village of Pëllumbas in Tirana County. It lies about 500 m (1,600 ft) above the Adriatic, on the slopes of Dajti, a mountain chain that rises to an elevation of 1,613 m (5,292 ft). The cave is one of among six karstic caves that exist in Europe.

Dajti standing at 1,613 m (5,292 ft) above sea level, is a mountain and national park on the edge of Tirana, Albania. The Dajti belongs to the Skanderbeg range. In winter, the mountain is often covered with snow, and it is a popular retreat to the local population of Tirana that rarely sees snow falls. Its slopes have forests of pines, oak and beech, while its interior contains canyons, waterfalls, caves, a lake, and an ancient castle.

The Erzen is a river in central Albania. The length of Erzen is 109 km (68 mi), while the catchment area is 760 km2 (290 sq mi) including the southern Tirana District and eastern Durrës District.

The District of Kavajë was one of the 36 Districts of Albania. Centrally located in the Western Lowlands region of the country, it stretched over an area of 400.8 km2 (154.7 sq mi). It consisted of 2 municipalities and 8 communes which made up 64 villages. Its population at the 2001 census was 78,179 inhabitants.

The Bovilla reservoir is a 4.6 square kilometres (1.8 sq mi) reservoir in Albania, approximately 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Tirana and southeast of Kruja, within Mount Dajt National Park. It provides most of the drinking water for Tirana.

The Lanë is the main stream that crosses through Tirana, the capital of Albania. Its source is in the mountains east of Tirana. Although once clean, it now carries sewage. During the 1990s, many illegal kiosks and buildings were constructed on the banks of the river. They were later torn down and removed in a campaign by Tirana's then mayor Edi Rama in the early 2000s. Now most of its banks have been planted with different kinds of trees and grass. No fish live there now due to the high pollution of its waters. The Lanë flows into the Tiranë River near Bërxullë.

The Shkumbin, also commonly Shkembi, is a river in Southern Europe. It is 181 km (112 mi) long and its drainage basin is 2,444 km2 (944 sq mi). Its average discharge is 61.5 m3/s (2,170 cu ft/s).

Tirana District was one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It had a population of 523,150 in 2001, and an area of 1,193 km². Its territory is now part of Tirana County: the municipalities of Tirana, Kamëz and Vorë.
