Agdam District

Agdam District is a district in southwestern Azerbaijan. The de jure capital is the city of Agdam, however the de facto administrative centre is Quzanlı. Most of the territory of the district was under the occupation of Armenian forces as the result of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in the early 1990s. As part of an agreement that ended the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War the city of Agdam and the surrounding district was returned to Azerbaijani control on 20 November 2020.

The Armenian-occupied territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh were areas of Azerbaijan, situated outside the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (NKAO), which were occupied by the military forces of the internationally unrecognized Republic of Artsakh since the end of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. As of December 2020, the territory has been transferred from Armenian control to Azerbaijani control in the aftermath of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War.

Fuzuli District is a rayon of Azerbaijan. It was named after the Azerbaijani poet Fuzûlî. Its official capital is the town of Füzuli, however as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the temporary seat is Horadiz. After the whole district was recaptured by Azerbaijan during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, it's expected for the seat to return to Fuzuli.

It was under the effective control of the self-declared Republic of Artsakh from 1992 until late 2020. Under the terms of an agreement that ended the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, most of the district was returned to Azerbaijani control on 1 December 2020.
