Also included on the list are people who were not born in Ireland, but have been raised as Irish, have lived there for most of their lives or in regards to the Republic of Ireland, have adopted Irish citizenship. The names are sorted by surname.

Blennerhassett baronets

The Blennerhassett Baronetcy of Blennerville in the County of Kerry, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 22 September 1809 for Rowland Blennerhassett, the member of a family that was originally settled in Cumberland, England, and subsequently at Frenze, Norfolk, and Barsham, Suffolk. Members of the Blennerhassett family represented Carlisle in almost every Parliament from the reign of Richard II to the reign of James I. This branch of the family settled in County Kerry during the reign of James I and its members frequently represented County Kerry and Tralee in the Irish House of Commons. The first Baronet's son, the second Baronet, was High Sheriff of Kerry in 1823. He was succeeded by his son, the third Baronet. He served as High Sheriff of County Kerry in 1820. His son, the fourth Baronet, was a Liberal politician. As of 2008 the title is held by the latter's great-grandson, the seventh Baronet, who succeeded in 1940.

The Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces (COS) is charged with the executive management of the Irish Defence Forces, and is the most senior military officer of the Army, Naval Service and Air Corps branches. The Chief of Staff is appointed by the President of Ireland, who is the Supreme Commander of the Defence Forces, on the recommendation of the Minister for Defence subject to the approval of the Government of Ireland. The office of the Chief of Staff consists of his personal staff, a strategic planning office and a public relations section.

Ireland's Greatest was a 2010 public poll by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) and associated television documentary series broadcast on RTÉ One, where viewers voted to choose the greatest person in the history of Ireland. The concept was based on the BBC series 100 Greatest Britons. The winner was John Hume.

Irish Socialist volunteers in the Spanish Civil War describes a grouping of IRA members and Irish Socialists who fought in support the cause of the Second Republic during the Spanish Civil War. These volunteers were taken from both Irish Republican and Unionist political backgrounds but were bonded through a Socialist and anti-clerical political philosophy. Many of the Irish Socialist volunteers who went to Spain later became known as the Connolly Column.
