WThe Aqaba Flagpole in Aqaba, Jordan is a 130 metres (430 ft) tall flagpole. This height makes it the 5th tallest free–standing and 6th tallest flagpole in the world. It was the tallest free–standing flagpole in the world until being surpassed by the 133 metres (436 ft) tall Ashgabat Flagpole in 2008. It carries the flag of the Arab Revolt commemorating the Battle of Aqaba that took place in 1917. The flagpole can be seen from Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. The flagpole was built in 2004 and opened on 3 October 2004.
WThe Ashgabat Flagpole is a flagpole in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is 133 metres tall, making it the 4th tallest free–standing and 5th tallest flagpole in the world. It was erected on 29 June 2008. It was the tallest free–standing flagpole in the world until being surpassed by the 162 m (531 ft) National Flagpole in Azerbaijan on 1 September 2010. The Vice-president of the Guinness Book of World Records at the time, Greig Glenday, came to Ashgabat as a witness, and handed over a certificate of the record.
WThe banderas monumentales are a collection of tall flagpoles containing large flags of Mexico located throughout Mexico. They are part of a program started in 1999 under President Ernesto Zedillo that is currently administered by the Secretariat of National Defense. The main feature of these monuments is a giant Mexican flag flying off a 50-meter-high (160-ft) flagpole. The size of the flag was 14.3 by 25 metres and it was flown on a pole that measured 50 metres (160 ft) high. In the time after the decree was issued, many more banderas monumentales have been installed throughout the country in various sizes. Many of the locations were chosen due to significant events in Mexican history that occurred there.

WIndependence Flagstaff, also known as the Charles F. Murphy Memorial Flagpole, is an outdoor memorial by sculptor Anthony de Francisci, located in Union Square Park in Manhattan, New York, which commemorates the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. The memorial was cast in 1926 and dedicated on July 4, 1930. It was made of steel, with copper sheathing, and is set on a granite pedestal which includes bronze bas-reliefs and plaques. The monument is in axial alignment with Henry Kirke Brown's statues of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

The flagpole was confirmed as the world's tallest flagpole by the Guinness Book of Records upon its inauguration in 2010, but was soon overtaken by the 165 m Dushanbe Flagpole in Tajikistan on 24 May 2011. Both flagpoles were built by the same American affiliated company, Trident Support. The flagpole in the square is the third tallest flagpole in the world.
WThe Raghadan Flagpole is a 126.8-metre (416 ft) tall flagpole located in Amman, Jordan. It was built from steel and erected on the grounds of Raghadan Palace at the royal compound of Al-Maquar. The leader of Jordan, King Abdullah II, officially hoisted the country's flag on the flagpole on 10 June 2003. It is clearly visible across the capital as well as from as far away as 20 kilometres (12 mi). It is illuminated, making it visible at night, and it was also developed to withstand earthquakes and bad weather.
