Catholic High School Petaling Jaya (CHSPJ), more commonly known as SMJK Katholik or 公教中学 in Mandarin is a co-educational government Catholic missionary school in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, recognised as a Cluster School of Excellence by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Founded in 1956 by Rev. Bro. Philippe Wu of the Marist Brothers. Catholic High School is known as one of the best; if not the best school in Selangor or even Malaysia. It has approximately 3000 students. It has an area of 8.4 acres (34,000 m2) with six blocks of classrooms, three blocks of science laboratories, an air conditioned school hall, a sports centre, gender-distinguished canteens, squash courts, a library and a school field. CHS has 14 uniformed bodies, 36 societies, 5 sports houses and 14 sport clubs. The students of CHS are known as 'CHS-ians'. Due to having the status of a Chinese conforming school, applicants are required to have taken Chinese paper for UPSR, also known as the Primary School Achievement Test. Mandarin paper is compulsory for all students and enrolment examinations such as PT3 and SPM.
