ARD-alpha is a German free-to-air television channel run by regional public-service broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk. Its programming consists of shows made by Bayerischer Rundfunk, as well as from ARD and Austrian broadcaster ORF. The channel was originally called BR-alpha but was rebranded as ARD-alpha on 29 June 2014.

Canal 10, previously known as Televisión de El Salvador (TVES) is El Salvador's public television service with the YSTVE signal. It also provides cultural programming with shows in German, Spanish, and French. The station airs Amy Goodman's Democracy Now! twice a day, as well as daily world news in English from Deutsche Welle. It was first established in 1985 and in 2009 became a full-capacity HD studio and post-production facility, with a six-camera mobile production truck.

Da Vinci Kids is a brand used for a group of educational television channels that target children aged 6–12 and families, owned by Da Vinci Media GmbH (Azoomee). It's available in 18 languages and in over 90 countries, across CEE, Asia, Africa and America. It broadcasts STEM and soft skills-based learning programs aimed at children and families during the daytime, and documentaries and educational series for grown-ups in the evenings.

DepEd TV is a Philippine educational television channel of the Department of Education (DepEd) with the assistance of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO). It was launched on August 11, 2020 and began its test broadcast, but following the postponement of the starting date of classes, the block is suspended to October 5, 2020.

DR K was a Danish free-to-air television channel owned by state broadcaster DR. Its programming was centred towards culture and history.

Korea Educational Broadcasting System (한국교육방송공사) or EBS is a South Korean educational public broadcaster and radio network covering South Korean territory, and the only major South Korean radio and television network without a separate regional service. Established as KBS 3, Seoul Animation Center and KBS Educational Radio in the 1980s, and became an independent corporation in 1990. EBS strives to supplement school education and promote lifelong education for everyone in Korea.

France 5 is a French free-to-air public television channel, part of the France Télévisions group. In contrast to the group's two main channels, France 2 and France 3, France 5 concentrates almost exclusively on factual programming, documentaries, and discussions – 3925 hours of documentaries were broadcast in 2003 – with fiction confined to one primetime slot of around two hours' duration on Monday evenings.

The station was owned by the University of California San Diego. On cable, the station was carried on Spectrum digital channel 1231 and Cox digital channel 135. Their transmitter was located atop Mount Soledad.

Kentucky Educational Television is a state network of PBS member television stations serving the U.S. Commonwealth of Kentucky. KUEN, virtual channel 9, is an educational independent television station serving Salt Lake City, Utah, United States that is licensed to Ogden. The station is owned by the Utah State Board of Regents, and is operated by the Utah Education Network on behalf of higher education (USHE) as well as public education (USOE). KUEN's studios are located at the Eccles Broadcast Center on the University of Utah campus, and its transmitter is located at Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. The station has a large network of broadcast translators that extend its over-the-air coverage throughout Utah, as well as portions of Colorado.

A similar counterpart would be PBS of the United States. NHK displays a watermark "NHK E" at the upper right for its digital TV broadcast. In 2010, NHK began using the abbreviation E Tele .
