Only a few countries and territories, such as Hong Kong, Turkmenistan, Belarus, and Nicaragua, have continued professional sporting matches as planned.
WThe 2020 AFL Women's season was the fourth season of the elite women's Australian rules football competition. Fourteen teams competed in the league, four more than the previous season, all of which were associated with existing Australian Football League (AFL) clubs.
WThe Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. WThe Dubai World Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 and contested at the Meydan Racecourse (Arabic:ميدان) which in Arabic suggests a place where people congregate and compete, a sort of meeting point in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The race is operated through the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) whose Chairman is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. It offers nine races, consisting of eight Thoroughbred contests and one Purebred Arabian contest.
WThe Grand National is a National Hunt horse race held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England. First run in 1839, it is a handicap steeplechase over an official distance of about 4 miles and 2½ furlongs, with horses jumping 30 fences over two laps. It is the most valuable jump race in Europe, with a prize fund of £1 million in 2017. An event that is prominent in British culture, the race is popular amongst many people who do not normally watch or bet on horse racing at other times of the year.
WThe 2020 IFMAR 1:12 scale Electric On-Road World Championships is the 2020 IFMAR World Championships for 1:12 radio-controlled pan car sanctioned by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). It was run over two separate classes over five days from 8 to 12 January. With two days practice followed by two days qualifying with the finals for both classes on the final day.
WThe International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup was the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition. The inaugural season launched in January 1967, and the 2020–21 season marked the 55th consecutive year for the FIS World Cup. As it had every year since 2006, the season began in Sölden, Austria in October, and it ended with the World Cup finals in March, which were held in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. WLockdown (2020) was a scheduled professional wrestling Impact Plus event produced by Impact Wrestling in conjunction with Border City Wrestling, on March 28, 2020 at the St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WThe May Bumps are a set of rowing races, held annually on the River Cam in Cambridge, England. They began in 1887 after separating from the Lent Bumps, the equivalent bumping races held at the end of February or start of March. Prior to the separation there had been a single set of annual bumps dating from its inception in 1827. The races are open to all college boat clubs from the University of Cambridge, the University Medical and Veterinary Schools and the Anglia Ruskin Boat Club. The May Bumps takes place over four days in mid-June and is run as a bumps race.
WThe Monster Jam World Finals is an annual monster truck event that is the championship event of the Monster Jam series, consisting of racing and freestyle competitions, with the winner of each considered the World Champion in that competition for the past year. It is the highest-profile monster truck event with the greatest media attention. From 2000 to 2018, the event was held in late March at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Starting in 2019, the plan was to rotate venues each year, but instead, it was decided the World Finals would be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida going forward.
WThe National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Gymnastics Championships are held each year. All schools compete in one division because only 15 schools sponsor NCAA men's gymnastics teams. One of the 15 teams is not in Division I: Springfield College.

WThe National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the NLL currently has thirteen teams: eight in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the NHL and NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. WNXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay was a scheduled professional wrestling show and WWE Network event that was to be produced by WWE for their NXT brand division. The event was originally scheduled to take place on April 4, 2020 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, but had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was ultimately canceled, but matches scheduled and planned for the event were rescheduled to take place across multiple episodes of NXT starting April 1.
WNXT UK TakeOver: Dublin was a scheduled professional wrestling show and WWE Network event that would have been produced by WWE for their NXT UK brand division. It was scheduled to take place at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. It would have been the fourth NXT UK TakeOver event and the first held outside the United Kingdom.
WOlympia London International Horse Show is one of the UK's biggest equestrian competitions, held at Olympia, London. It is best known for its showjumping, however it also has competitions in horse showing, driving, mounted games, dog agility and more recently dressage. Evening sessions are broadcast live by the BBC each year, with the puissance. It is held over seven days in the week preceding Christmas that involves over 400 horses and ponies, and many of the events are Christmas themed.
WThe Parish Walk is a walking race that takes place on the Isle of Man each year usually on the weekend nearest to the Northern Summer solstice. It is the biggest walking event on the island.
WParkrun is a collection of 5-kilometre (3.1 mi) events for walkers, runners and volunteers that take place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 22 countries across five continents. Junior Parkrun is a spin-off event that provides a 2 kilometres event for children aged 4–14 on a Sunday morning. Parkrun events are free to enter and are delivered by volunteers, supported by a small group of staff at its headquarters.
WROH 18th Anniversary was a scheduled two-night professional wrestling event produced by American promotion Ring of Honor (ROH) that would have taken place on Friday, March 13 and Saturday March 14, 2020, at the Sam's Town Live in the Las Vegas suburb of Sunrise Manor, Nevada. Friday's show was planned to be a pay-per-view broadcast, while Saturday's show was planned to broadcast live on Honor Club. The event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WThe Round the Island Race is an annual yacht race around the Isle of Wight. It starts and finishes in Cowes, and is organised by the Island Sailing Club. The course is about 50 nautical miles (93 km) long. It was first held in 1931, it was sponsored by JP Morgan Asset Management from 2005 but in 2017 Cloudy Bay took over as the Presenting Sponsor, the 2019 race was sponsored by Helly Hansen, Raymarine, MS Amlin and Chelsea Magazines. The race is generally chosen to be the Saturday in June with the most favourable tides; a date in late May or early July may be chosen if there is no suitable date in June.
WSupercard of Honor XIV was a scheduled professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by American promotion Ring of Honor (ROH), that would have taken place on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. Wrestlers from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), with whom ROH has a partnership, were scheduled to appear at the event. The event was later suspended by ROH due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WTNA: There's No Place Like Home was a scheduled professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by Impact Wrestling. It was planned to take place during the WrestleCon convention on April 3, 2020 at The Ritz Ybor in Tampa, Florida and stream live on FITE TV. The event was cancelled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WUFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship originally planned to take place on April 25, 2020 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UFC president Dana White announced on April 9 that starting with UFC 249, all future events were indefinitely postponed. The event was officially cancelled on April 20.
WUFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship originally planned to take place on April 11, 2020 at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, United States. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was eventually postponed (see section below).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was eventually postponed (see section below).

Two players use conkers threaded onto a string and take turns to strike the other's nut until it shatters. Since 1965, conker players from around the world have gathered to compete in a knock-out, to be world champion in team and individual, also women's and youth titles. Up to 5,000 spectators watch around 400 players participating. from many countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom.
WThe 2021 World Rowing Championships was planned to be held from 17 to 24 October 2021 in Shanghai, China. Due to COVID-19-related mitigation issues, the event was cancelled by the World Rowing Association at the request of the Shanghai Organising Committee (OC).
