The story follows either the miko Reimu Hakurei or the magician Marisa Kirisame, as they fight through the world of Gensokyo to find the cause of vampiric red mist, covering the sky scarlet red in the middle of summer.

Fairy Wars is a shoot 'em up game, and is the 12.8th official game in the Touhou Project by the dōjin circle Team Shanghai Alice. The game was released on August 14, 2010 at Comiket 78. The game is the sequel to the Touhou Sangetsusei manga series. The game's illustrations were done by Makoto Hirasaka, the artist of the Touhou Sangetsusei series, instead of ZUN. The game is sometimes called FW or GFW for short.

It was first released in the 11th Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai on May 11, 2014. It released on Steam on April 1, 2019. The player controls Seija Kijin, the main character, to take down bosses and avoid the bullets. Because in this game, the bullets are almost too dense to avoid directly, the player must use a series of 9 cheat items which belong to other characters of Touhou Project to finish the avoidance. All levels in Impossible Spell Card may be completed without the use of items, however.

Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony is a Metroidvania Touhou Project fangame developed in 2009 for Microsoft Windows. The game has also been referred to as 'Touhouvania'.

Touhou Youyoumu ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom. is a 2003 vertical bullet hell scrolling shoot 'em up developed by Team Shanghai Alice. It is the seventh game in the Touhou Project series. Playable characters include returning protagonists Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame, with Sakuya Izayoi featuring in her first playable appearance. The story centers around the chosen heroine traveling to Gensokyo's Netherworld to stop Gensokyo from being stuck in an eternal state of Winter when Spring fails to arrive.

Touhou Kaeidzuka ~ Phantasmagoria of Flower View. is the ninth official game in the Touhou Project scrolling shoot 'em up series. It is often abbreviated as PoFV in English speaking circles. Phantasmagoria of Flower View, like the third Touhou game, Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream, differs from other games in the series in that two characters fight each other simultaneously, creating danmaku to try and defeat the other player. In this regard, the gameplay most resembles Twinkle Star Sprites by ADK.

Touhou Seirensen ~ Undefined Fantastic Object. is the twelfth main game of the Touhou Project scrolling shooter series, by dōjin game circle Team Shanghai Alice. The game was released at the 76th Comiket on August 15, 2009, and then followed by a retail release on September 11, 2009 at doujinshi stores. Undefined Fantastic Object was the first Touhou game to introduce colored power-ups, which reward the player with extra lives, points and bombs when collected, a gameplay mechanic that would be used in multiple games later on in the series.

Touhou Shinpiroku ~ Urban Legend in Limbo. is a fighting game developed by Twilight Frontier and Team Shanghai Alice and published by Twilight Frontier. It is the 14.5th installment in the Touhou Project series and the first game to be illustrated by Moe Harukawa. It was released in May 2015.

Hifuu Nightmare Diary ~ Violet Detector is the 16.5th Touhou Project game, released at the 94th Comiket on August 10, 2018. It is the third photography game in the series, and introduces regular shot types alongside the camera, allowing the player to switch between using photographs to destroy bullets, and regular danmaku to deplete enemies of their health.

Touhou Kikeijuu ~ Wily Beast and Weakest Creature is the 17th main game in the Touhou Project and the 24th game overall. It was announced on ZUN's blog on April 17, 2019. A playable demo was released on May 5, at Reitaisai 16, and the full version was released at Comiket and on Steam on August 12.
