The project was built by Fernbrook Homes and Cityzen Development Group. With the first three towers completed, the last two towers were topped off at 50 and 56 storeys.

In 2009, famous German company Schuco chose the tower amongst the 10 most beautiful buildings in the world.

It was designed by American architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
WCayan Tower, known as Infinity Tower before it was inaugurated, is a 306-metre-tall (1,004 ft), 75-story skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by Cayan Real Estate Investment and Development. The tower is designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill SOM architectural group. Upon its opening on 10 June 2013, the tower became world's tallest high-rise building with a twist of 90 degrees. This record has since been surpassed by the Shanghai Tower, which opened in February 2015.
WThe CCTV Headquarters serves as the headquarters for China Central Television (CCTV) that was formerly at the old China Central Television Building located at 11 Fuxin Road some 15 km (9.3 mi) to the west. The tower is a 234-metre (768 ft), 51-story skyscraper on East Third Ring Road, Guanghua Road in the Beijing Central Business District (CBD). Groundbreaking took place on 1 June 2004 and the building's facade was completed in January 2008. After the construction was delayed by a fire that engulfed the adjacent Television Cultural Center in February 2009, the headquarters was completed in May 2012 and was officially inaugurated in June 2013. The CCTV Headquarters won the 2013 Best Tall Building Worldwide from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
WChesterfield Parish Church is an Anglican church dedicated to Saint Mary and All Saints, in the town of Chesterfield in Derbyshire, England. Building began in 1234 AD, though the present church dates predominantly from the 14th century. Designated a Grade I listed building in 1971, St Marys' is most known for its twisted and leaning spire, which has led to the church being known as the Crooked Spire. It is the largest parish church in the Diocese of Derby, and forms part of the Archdeaconry of Chesterfield. In 1994 it also became the UK's only representative in the Association of the Twisted Spires of Europe; of the 72 member churches, it is deemed to have the greatest lean and twist.
WThe Chicago Spire was a skyscraper project in Chicago that was partially built between 2007 and 2008 before being cancelled. Located at 400 N. Lake Shore Drive, it would have stood 2,000 feet (610 m) high with 150 floors and been the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. When originally proposed as the Fordham Spire in July 2005, the design had 116 stories, included a hotel and condominiums, and was topped with a broadcast antenna mast. The building was designed and spearheaded by Spanish architect-engineer Santiago Calatrava and Chicago developer Christopher T. Carley of the Fordham Company. On March 16, 2006, the Chicago Plan Commission unanimously approved the initial design of the building. On November 4, 2016, a court ruling brought the original development plan and the extended litigation over the nine-year-old project to a close. Developer Garrett Kelleher signed over the property location to the project's biggest creditor, Related Midwest, who announced that they would not build the Spire and released 400 Lake Shore Drive.
WThe Dancing House, or Fred and Ginger, is the nickname given to the Nationale-Nederlanden building on the Rašínovo nábřeží in Prague, Czech Republic. It was designed by the Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in cooperation with Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry on a vacant riverfront plot. The building was designed in 1992. The construction, carried out by BESIX, was completed four years later in 1996.

WDiamond Tower is a planned 93-story, 432-metre (1,417 ft) supertall skyscraper in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia whose construction is on hold as of July 2020. The tower will be primarily for residential use. Once completed it will become Saudi Arabia's second-tallest building and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. When completed, Diamond Tower will be the only building to twist a full 360 degrees along its height.
WThe Evolution Tower is a skyscraper located on plots 2 and 3 of the MIBC in Moscow, Russia. The 55-story office building has a height of 246 metres (807 ft) and a total area of 169,000 square metres (1,820,000 sq ft). Noted in Moscow for its futuristic DNA-like shape, the building was designed by British architect Tony Kettle in collaboration with University of Edinburgh's Professor of Art Karen Forbes. Construction of the tower began in 2011 and was completed in late 2014. In 2016, Transneft bought the Evolution Tower for US$1 billion to establish its headquarters. The skyscraper is the twelfth-tallest building in Russia, and the 20th-tallest building in Europe.

WGenerali Tower is a skyscraper completed in 2017 in Milan, Italy that reaches a height of 191.5 m (628 ft) with 44 floors, and a total floor area of about 67,000 square metres (720,000 sq ft). Its designer is the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, hence it is also called torre Hadid. The geometry of the building is that of a warping shape, where both the floors dimension and their orientation vary along the tower axis.
WThe IQ-quarter is a mixed-use complex composed of two skyscrapers and a high-rise located on plot 11 in the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) in Moscow, Russia with a total area of 201,430 m2 (2,168,174 sq ft). WOpus Hong Kong is a 12-storey, 42.62 m (139.8 ft) residential high-rise completed in 2012 at 53 Stubbs Road on Mid-Levels in Hong Kong. The project was designed by Frank Gehry in collaboration with Ronald Lu and Partners, and developed by Swire Properties. It was Gehry's first Asian residential project.

It had the world's second-fastest elevators at a top speed of 20.5 meters per second until 2017, when it was surpassed by the Guangzhou CTF Finance Center, with its top speed of 21 meters per second. Designed by international design firm Gensler and owned by the Shanghai Municipal Government, it is the tallest of the world's first triple-adjacent supertall buildings in Pudong, the other two being the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center. Its tiered construction, designed for high energy efficiency, provides nine separate zones divided between office, retail and leisure use.

SOCAR Tower is located on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, a long highway from the main airport to downtown Baku, which is visible on the way to the city center. It is one of Baku's major landmarks, along with the Flame Towers.

The tower is the second tallest building in the city, after the Shangri-La tower located across West Georgia Street.
