Some Islamic organizations cite it in support of the Islamic view of Jesus.

Mokhtarnameh is an Iranian epic/history television series directed by Davood Mirbagheri, based on the life of Al-Mukhtar, a pro-Alid revolutionary based in Kufa, who led a rebellion against the Umayyad Caliphate in 685 and ruled over most of Iraq for eighteen months during the Second Fitna. Later due to the popularity of the show, episodes were shown in syndication on various Iranian provincial channels as well as IRIB 1 & IRIB 2 for those living out of the country. It is one of the most famous works of Avini, and one of the first and most important war documentary films in the history of Iranian cinema. The series presents witnessing discourse through footage of front-line sacrifices set against commentary by Avini. The documentary film "literally brought the details of war into people's living rooms every night". The series had a mystic and spiritual theme.

The Martyr of Kufa orginall title Imam Ali is an Iranian epic television series focusing on the life of Ali ibn Abi Talib, directed by Davood Mirbagheri, and originally broadcast in 1992 in 22 episodes. It was subsequently released on DVD, with other editions including one with English sub-titles, and one dubbed into Urdu. The series covers the events before the caliphate of Ali ibn Abi Talib to his assassination in Kufa, Iraq. The telefilm version of this series has also been made and broadcast.

The Frog is a crime and mystery series written, edited and directed by Houman Seyyedi and produced by Ali Asadzadeh, produced in 2020–2021 in Iran. This series is the first series made by Houman Seyyedi, the first episode of which was supposed to be released on December 15, 2020, but the broadcast of this series was stopped by court order. Finally, the first part of this series was released on December 23, 2020.

The Monster is an Iranian TV series in the genre of political satire, directed by Mehran Modiri, produced by Seyed Mostafa Ahmadi and Mehran Modiri and written by Amir Baradaran. The designer and director of the script of this series is Peyman Ghasemkhani. This is the seventh series between Modiri and Ghasemkhani and it is also the first series of this director in which Siamak Ansari is not present. The filming of the first season started in December 2016 and lasted until May 2017. Due to the fact that the series took place in different places, the location of the filming was not fixed. The first season of this series started broadcasting on May 30, 2019, and ended on September 16, 2019. The second season is also in production. The first season of the series aired on a weekly basis on Mondays.

Zero Degree Turn or Zero Degree Latitude is a 2007 television series, made through the cooperation of Iran, Hungary, France, and Lebanon. The program was one of the most expensive and elaborate ever produced by Iran and attracted a large audience there. It is inspired by a real-life story about Iranian diplomat Abdol Hossein Sardari, who saved Jews in 1940s Paris during the Nazi Occupation by giving out Iranian passports and allowing them refuge in the Iranian Embassy. Although it has been noted that neither character names nor the story are close to Sardari's story.

Zire Tigh is an Iranian drama television series that originally aired on the IRIB TV1 on October 31, 2006. The series contained 19 episodes, and was a popular success among the viewers. It aired on Wednesday nights after the nightly national news on IRIB TV1. The show was later re-run daily on IRIB 1, IRIB 2 and IRIB 3 for those living abroad. The show's finale aired on March 12, 2007.
