Although changes to the Cuban constitution in 1992 decriminalized the right to form political parties other than the Communist Party of Cuba, these parties are not permitted to campaign or engage in any public political activities on the island. The Democratic Solidarity party described itself as "an organization from within Cuba promoting democracy and the respect for human rights by the peaceful route." The last President of the party was Fernando Sánchez López. The party was a full member of Liberal International.

The Great Liberal Union (Spanish: Gran Unión Liberal is a right-wing Nicaraguan political party formed by President Bolaños and other dissidents from the Constitutionalist Liberal Party in 2004. After signing an electoral alliance with the Conservative Party, both organizations formed the Alliance for the Republic in 2005. As of 2006, the GUL joined the Constitutionalist Liberal Party alliance.

The Huila New and Liberalism is a regional political party in Colombia, closely affiliated to the Liberal Party of Colombia. At the last legislative elections, 12 March 2006, the party won 2 seats in the Chamber of Representatives.

The Human Rights Party is a Cambodian political party founded on 22 July 2007 by Kem Sokha. Critics allege that its foundation is meant to weaken opposition parties and is driven by the ruling party. This sentiment, however, seems to be driven by the ruling party themselves as Kem Sokha has long been a very vocal critic of the ruling CPP party. At the time of its foundation, the party claimed to have between 200,000 and 500,000 members nationwide.

The Independent Liberal Party for National Unity (PLIUN) is a Nicaraguan centre-right party that split from the Independent Liberal Party in 1984 as a consequence of PLI's decision to participate in the 1984 elections. PLIUN received legal status in 1989. As of 2006, PLIUN is part of the Constitutionalist Liberal Party electoral alliance in the 2006 Nicaraguan general election.

The Liberal Democratic Party was a Cambodian political party founded in 1992 by former Khmer People's National Liberation Armed Forces commander Sak Sutsakhan. The New Macau Association (AMN) is a major pro-democratic political party in the Chinese Special Administrative Region of Macau. The party was established in 1992 and the founding chairman was António Ng Kuok Cheong, who departed from the then-mainstream livelihood faction and called for political reform in the colony. The current chairman is Icy Kam Sut Leng. At the, 20 September 2009 election, the association split into two electoral lists – the New Democratic Macau Association and the Prosperous Democratic Macau Association. The two lists combined won 19.35% of popular vote and 3 seats in the legislature. At the election in 2005, the group won a plurality of 18.8% of the popular vote and 2 out of 12 popular elected seats. In the 2013 election the association is split into three electoral lists with the addition of New Macau Liberals.

On Regar's front page of every issue is a quote from the constitution of Seychelles invoking their right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
