If the list of participants remains unchanged, it also marks both the third time a country has withdrawn from the contest after winning the previous edition and the third time a country has withdrawn after hosting the previous edition. However, on 18 March 2020, it was announced that the event had been postponed indefinitely as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. As of 19 November 2021, the future of the contest is uncertain.
