On December 2, 2020, it was announced that Poly would be shutting down on June 30, 2021, with the ability to upload 3D models to be suspended on the April 30, 2021.

The service also directly integrated with and/or supported 3D Viewer, as well as Paint 3D, SketchUp, Minecraft, and PowerPoint.

As of 2019, Shapeways printed and sold more than ten million user-created objects.
