
Dr. Balbir Singh Sahitya Kendra is a memorial, library and art gallery in the name of Sikh scholar Dr Balbir Singh, which is the nucleus of advanced study for research in comparative religion, philosophy & culture. It is now a department of Punjabi University Patiala and located at 20, Pritam road, Dehradun. The place was earlier residence of a Sikh scholar Balbir Singh (scholar). It has facilities for visiting scholars & university researchers to carry out research on comparative religion, Sikh studies and history & culture of Punjab.
Bharat Bhavan is an autonomous multi-arts complex and museum in Bhopal, India, established and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.The architect of the Bharat Bhavan is Charles Correa. Opened in 1982, facing the Upper Lake, Bhopal, it houses multiple art galleries, a graphic printing workshop, a ceramics workshop, an open-air amphitheatre, a studio theatre, an auditorium, a museum of tribal & folk art and libraries of Indian poetry, classical music & folk music.

The Bijapur Collection refers to an assemblage of manuscripts held primarily in the India Office collections at the British Library. The manuscripts, in Arabic and Persian, were originally part of the Adil Shahi royal library with many carrying seals of the Adil Shahi rulers. At some point in their history, the manuscripts were removed to the Assur Mahal (اشرمحل). The building was home to a college and theological school founded by Mohammed Adil Shah, Sultan of Bijapur, to house a relic of the Prophet.

The Harekrushna Mahtab State Library is a library in the city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. This is situated on the Sachivalay Marg, next to State Secretariat. Completed in 1959, it houses the State Library of Odisha and the Public Library for the city of Bhubaneswar. As part of the birth centenary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi, it was named as "Gandhi Bhawan" in 1967. In 1987, it was renamed after the first chief minister of Odisha Harekrushna Mahatab.

The International Library & Cultural Centre (ILCC) was established in Ranchi when the British Council division had closed its establishment in the year 1995. The ILCC is being managed by a trust at the British Council premises at Ranchi and is hosting about 36000 book stocks.

The Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) is a Tibetan library in Dharamshala, India. The library was founded by Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama on 11 June 1970, and is considered one of the most important libraries and institutions of Tibetan works in the world.

The Romain Rolland Library, founded in 1827 as the Bibliothèque Publique, is one of the oldest Libraries of India located in the union territory of Puducherry. In the year 1966 when the birth centenary of the Great French Scholar, Romain Rolland who was also a contemporary and a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated, the Library was renamed after him and ever since it is known as ‘Romain Rolland Library’.

The management committee of Khalsa College Amritsar created the Sikh History Research Centre in 1930 to write and publish the Sikh history from a modern historical perspective.

The Sikh Reference Library was a repository of over 1,500 rare manuscripts located in the Harmandir Sahib at Amritsar, Punjab which was destroyed during Operation Blue Star. In 1984, the library's contents were confiscated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the empty building allegedly burned to the ground by the Indian Army. In recent years the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has attempted to recover the looted material but has not yet recovered substantial materials. To date, the status of library manuscripts and artifacts is unclear; the vast majority remain in the hands of the government, a few office files and passports were returned, and as many as 117 items were destroyed for being "seditious" materials.
